Common Sands - The Sand Castle Competition Card Game

The client gave you 80 hours. That's it. Eighty hours to turn a pile of wet sand into something worth photographing, and every round on the table is another working day burning down.

Common Sands puts you in the boots of a sand carver, and it is exactly as unfair as the real thing. You build your sculpture by banking Hours cards. Your opponents build nothing, ruin everything, and enjoy it: heavy rain, a collapse on day six, a rake that walks off the beach, a morning where the inspiration simply refuses to show up. Play the right Remedy and you're back to work. Play an Immunity card and that particular disaster can never touch you again for the rest of the game.

Not drawing a client? Then you do what every carver has done at some point: you eat the cost. Burn your own hours promoting yourself until the work comes in.

Play solo-style with 2–4 carvers, or team up 4–6 in pairs sharing one sculpture and one deadline. First to 80 hours wins. Everyone else has an unfinished castle and excuses.
